I got my start in aviation when I was about 8 years old. We lived fairly close to the local airport and no matter what was going on you could find me there. I was either looking at planes or in the library reading about them.
When I entered the 5th grade I met a person who would forever be a friend and confidant and who had as much an interest in aircraft as myself. "Cliff" not only loved them he built the most beautiful and detailed models of warbirds. One day we were poking around the garage at his house and I discovered a box of control line airplanes. He explained that they were his dad and that they were off limits. After much pestering, thousands of questions and being a general nuisance, Mr. Goble consented to show me how they flew. From that day forward I was either building balsa models or meeting with Cliff to determine the next project. To this day I owe a dept of gratitude to my life long friend Cliff and his dad Cliff Sr. Neither of them ever said that a project was to difficult, they only watched, waited and gave support. My Father ,"Hank", taught me what a wrench was for and how to properly use it. He was a mechanic in the oil fields of West Texas. His ability to fix almost anything, sometimes creating as he went, was the background for me to always watch and learn. When I was about 12, I started riding with him and helping / learning all the intricacies of internal combustion engines and how to repair and maintain them. He was always on the support side and never belittled a person for trying new things. His experience was only surpassed by his compassion to help. Dad was also a "Flying Non-Com" in WW2. This only fueled the fire for my interest in aviation. I spent part of my carrier in the Air Force and the other in the Coast Guard. Both of which had a strong aviation background and were stepping stones to what I have become. All total I have over 25 years of aircraft related background. From design and construction, to maintenance and restoration. I am a certified pilot working on my Commercial and CFI ratings, as well as a certified A&P mechanic. I have never found a project that was to big as far as work, time on the other hand can be a factor. Currently with the new shop going in we hope to help bring affordable maintenance and repairs to the general aviation aircraft owners. As a part of my life I help teach in the Aviation Maintenance Department at Eastern New Mexico University, Roswell helping to form the Airframe and Powerplant Mechanics of the future. My wife Theresa is the support base for me and the shop as well as my daughter Amanda who sees herself as the next generation of "Rosy the Riveter". We are a family based organization and offer the same quality of work to our customers as we do to our own lives. We hope to serve you in your Aviation needs as well as helping you to keep your dreams flying.
