Many of our friends have expressed interest in the remodeling of our wind damaged trailer at Lakewood. A little over a year ago, just before we were to move into the place South East New Mexico experienced sever winds in excess of 85 miles per hour. As a result of these winds our trailer was severely damaged, 36 feet of the siding on the south side was torn lose and the interior was almost totally destroyed. With a lack of appropriate funds and time the only option we had was to rent a place in Artesia to live with hopes of repairing the trailer and moving back to our own piece of "Dirt". In late February we had problems with our landlord that have developed into a stress factor that is totally un called for and the decision was basically made that we "Have" to get this house fixed and livable as soon as possible. This is a compilation of the efforts to totally remodel and repair a trailer with extremely limited funds and resources. But as always, the Lord has provided many blessings and unexpected opportunities to not only realize this endeavor but to show others that faith overcomes all things

This is what we started with in February. The side from the second window from the left all the way back to the corner on the right was ripped wide open and folded back. The plywood patches are what hold it closed at this time. Now the work starts, here is the progress to today, March 24th.
Well as of today, 3-25-2002, this is what I accomplished this week, the photos below will show the progress. I have changed the format a bit to give descriptions with the photos. Don't think I did to bad for a weeks work. The master bed room is now sheet rocked, just waiting for taping then it can be painted. Actually there is one trim piece that needs to be fitted over the door in the closet as well as the partition between the rooms.
The wall between the dinning room and Amanda's bed room is up and the panels are in place all it needs is a coat of paint and the door framing put in as well as the door.
The kitchen is starting to come together, the cabinets and counter bases I fabricated are not the greatest but they will do for the time being. The temporary panels are up down the hall so as to give some idea of how it will look when completed.
Well, as you can see below, the kitchen is remodeled again. I managed to find some cabinets that were from a remodeling job in town. Needless to say they were removed in pieces, so I had a bit of a challenge to put them together and make them work. But as you can see, the end result turned out pretty nice. Theresa is "Very happy with her "New" Kitchen.
I have the bedroom and living room painted and now am working on the trim and baseboards. As soon as I have these done the major parts of the house will be done. Here are some shots of the new Bedroom.
