I picked up the parts and pieces to start this project on Augest the 2nd. After getting it home I have devoted at least 2 hours a night working on it. It is to be my primary plane to fly while the R&D contenues on the other projects. Below are a few pictures of it, I have a bunch more to scan and get on the site.
Here is a shot of the cowling area. I have just started to form it up. The engine is a Kawasaki 440A, it will have a custom tuned exaust and reduction unit that I am currently building.
Here I am fitting the left cowling ductm these are out of 16 thousanths sheet. Here is another shot of the duct, as well as the construction of the fuselage. I deviated a bit from the tube construction and opted for the alum. angle. it is all driven rivets and incredibly strong. One main reason for this is the hot days and thermal activity. Some of the stresses that can be imparted on the airframe can be quite sever.
Heres a shot of the hand formed step, "0" material the heat treated. It is also a good shot of the seat and cockpit area and the construction around it.
